Job Summary

Quality Control Clerk (Clerical II) has a key role in order to assure the accuracy and salability of the product in the DC and perpetual inventory. They are the gatekeeper to assure expired product, short dated product or damaged product are removed from the inventory and disposed of properly and not shipped to our customer (stores). They also process overstock returned inventory from the stores to assure saleable and accurate. May be asked to support other functions within the department to ensure compliance with inventory. May be asked to support other departments as needed to support customer service and on-time delivery of product to Rite Aid stores.


The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid's brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure product that is not salable is removed from the inventory and properly disposed of –dumpster, salvage, return to vendor or sent to reclamation center. Ensure expiration dates are accurate.

  • Responsible for the integrity of the system expiration dating and pulling of short-dated or outdated products.

  • Check expiration dates on products that are supposed to go outdate or short date within specified parameters, remove from inventory, write up worksheets, and follow through on required disposition.

  • Process overstock returns received from the stores. Determine salability. Adjust ‘good’ product into the DC’s inventory. Send damaged or outdated to reclamation center.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, general business periodicals, operating and maintenance instructions/procedure manuals. Can speak effectively to customers. Able to type, prepare, copy, file, and keep records.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Able to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw, and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and trigonometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
