As a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer, you will design, develop, test, and implement lifesaving medical devices ensuring compliance with industry standards for Stryker's Emergency Care division.

You will need to live within commuting distance of our Redmond, Washington office. You will need to be in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and can work from home on Thursday and Friday.

What you will do:

  • Work on designs including plastic parts, electronics packaging, electro-mechanical systems, wire harnesses, patient interfacing accessories, and power systems.
  • Develop design concepts, conduct feasibility studies, build and test prototypes, and analyze designs.
  • Independently research, design, develop, modify, and verify components, modules, and sub-systems for medical devices that can endure drop, impact, shock, vibration, and exposure to water.
  • Translate user needs into design specifications and produce complex system-level designs.
  • Conduct advanced prototyping and testing and analyze and correct complex product design issues.
  • Lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
  • Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success.
  • Identify and support improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology

What you need

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical or related discipline
  • Minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering design work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Creo Modeling and Ansys FEA software
  • Experience in in designing equipment that can endure drop, impact, shock, vibration, and exposure to water (or designing in a highly regulated industry) and the ability to utilize Solid Modeling and CAE tools to optimize the design.

$98,300.00 - 161,100.00 USD salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.

Travel Percentage: 10%
