Job Description:

Respiratory Care Support-EKG Tech

Coordinates unit activities in collaboration with charge nurse/manager. Facilitates smooth running of the unit by performing clerical, reception, computer entry/processing, and organizational duties. Performs EKGs and related tasks, as ordered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Reads, writes legibly, converses effectively in the English language
  • Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
  • Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment
  • Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public
  • Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Willing to work in other outpatient areas such as Wound Care, Rehab, and Outpatient Infusion

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES/DEGREES

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
