JR52393 Lead / Senior Emission Analyst

As a Lead / Senior Emission Analyst in Global Sustainability Team, you will be responsible for leading critical emissions data collection at Micron’s R&D and manufacturing sites globally using FTIR and/or forward-looking analytical technologies. You will be working in close partnership with instrument suppliers and/or vendors, site environmental sustainability leadership teams, site manufacturing teams, site facility teams, global smart manufacturing teams, global labs etc. to perform measurement, optimize measurement methodologies, write and document measurement reports, and provide recommendations to propel Micron towards the goal of achieving net zero emissions.

Responsibilities

Perform Actual Emissions (process greenhouse gas etc.) Measurement & Reporting

  • FTIR and/or analytics technologies pre-measurement calibration.
  • Coordinate with site manufacturing team for process recipe and dilution flow requirement.
  • Partner with site manufacturing and/or facility teams to perform abatement destruction and removal efficiencies (DRE) measurement and optimize abatement, setpoints where required.
  • Analyze measured data and write measurement reports (DRE etc.).
  • FTIR and/or analytical technologies maintenance and troubleshooting in collaboration with instrument suppliers.

Optimize Actual Emissions Measurement & Reporting Procedures

  • Create and optimize standard operating procedures (SOP) for abatement DRE measurement and reporting to improve measurement and report writing efficiencies.

Innovation and Training

  • Partner with instrument suppliers and/or ventures to explore and deploy forward-looking analytics technologies for improved accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Partner with workforce development to build training materials on emissions measurement and conduct training courses for a team of Emission analysis technicians.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of working experience with FTIR technologies.
  • Proficient in English.
  • Strong communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Strong skills in decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and statistics skills.
  • Strong teamwork and consensus-building skills.
  • Prior experience in process greenhouse gas measurement and reporting using FTIR technology is preferred.
  • Familiarity with IPCC 2019 Tier 2c methodology and U.S. EPA DRE measurement protocol is preferred.
  • Macro writing abilities may be beneficial.
