The opportunity:
As a strategic leader with a deep understanding of health and life insurance pricing, you'll take on a pivotal role as Head of Propositions, leading the development and management of our pricing philosophy and strategy. This position is crucial in driving innovation and product design, with a strong focus on meeting customer needs while balancing shareholder value. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll have the opportunity to influence major business decisions and shape the future of our product offerings.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the development and management of long-term pricing strategies.
Innovating new product designs, integrating Vitality shared value products, and enhancing ongoing Vitality innovations.
Overseeing the preparation and review of premium rates, ensuring profitability while delivering customer value.
Driving product development, ensuring our offerings meet customer needs and achieve business objectives.
Leading the analysis and strategic response to competitor activities.
Managing and coaching the Pricing team, fostering a culture of productivity and efficiency.
Providing expert financial and risk advice to support new product launches and ongoing product management.
Monitoring actuarial experience and ensuring the integrity of pricing models.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
A deep understanding of health and life insurance pricing, paired with strong analytical skills.
Expertise in shared value propositions and the application of behavioural science.
A track record of successful product development and innovation, with an eye for detail and a creative approach to problem-solving.
Proficiency in pricing model infrastructure and technology, combined with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.
Exceptional leadership skills, with a talent for inspiring and guiding teams toward achieving their goals.
A collaborative mindset, with the ability to build strong relationships across departments and influence key stakeholders.
Strong decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges and a focus on driving results.
An innovative and forward-thinking attitude, adaptable to change and eager to embrace new opportunities.
The ability to effectively communicate the bigger picture, ensuring alignment across all levels of the organisation.
5+ years post-qualification Actuary experience with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
