Job Description

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
We are seeking a self-sufficient individual contributor to support the Controller in various complex F&A functions.  The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supporting finance transformation initiatives as well as support the monthly close in certain key areas. The Accounting Manager will help to champion process improvements to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our F&A team.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in key process improvement initiatives such as financial statement preparation and review, salary and salary related accounting and analysis, production bonus accounting and related analysis
  • Participate in month-end close activities, including preparation and/or review of accounting journal entries, account analysis, preparation of schedules for various expenses, and preparation and/or review of account reconciliations as assigned
  • Support the Controller in maintaining internal controls and safeguarding of assets
  • Serve as system administrator for key accounting software applications
  • Participate in the year-end audit process with effective planning and coordination between the F&A team and external auditors
  • Participate in the annual budget process; work with the Controller and Finance Director to formulate appropriate budget assumptions; maintain a thorough understanding of the budget to facilitate variance analysis throughout the year
  • Other duties as assigned to support F&A initiatives and objectives

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • MAcc, MBA or CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of experience, ideally beginning in a Big Four public accounting firm, consulting firm, or F&A group
  • Advanced Excel; experience utilizing ERP system; proficiency with NetSuite a strong plus; knowledge of OneStream a strong plus
  • Extreme understanding of GAAP and experience dealing with complex accounting issues
  • Experience with ledger consolidations and international accounting procedures a strong plus
  • Experience in transformation or process improvement initiatives in a F&A setting
