Who you are:

 

Dataminr is looking for a Government Contracts Manager to join its legal team to focus on public sector transactions. As Government Contracts Manager, you will play a strategic role in helping Dataminr achieve its commercial, legal and compliance objectives in a time of dynamic growth. You will be the central point of contact for government contracts and will report to the Associate General Counsel. 

 

In this role, you will work with globally dispersed sales and legal teams in managing the government contracting process end to end, from responding to RFQs / RFPs through contract negotiation and execution. You will also be responsible for monitoring the performance of contracts that impact Dataminr's ability to meet its revenue objectives, sales goals, growth plans and audit requirements. You will initiate, track and monitor contract changes, deliverables, and correspondence with government contract officers. 

 

You will also collaborate with colleagues across multiple service lines and develop long-term relationships across a network of existing and potential customers, understanding their businesses to provide tailored insights. Moreover, this position will offer exposure to cutting-edge SaaS technology areas such as privacy, security, and AI/ML, allowing you to stay at the forefront of the industry. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Reviewing, negotiating and drafting portions of MSAs, purchase orders, service orders, and NDAs, along with completing vendor forms and other ancillary customer documentation

  • Preparing responses to RFPs and RFIs

  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of playbooks and legal processes, particularly those relating to contracting

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Deal Desk, and Sales Operations to ensure timely and efficient negotiation and execution of contracts

  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders

  • Supporting business development teams in reviewing and completing RFQs, RFPs and other forms of solicitations for Dataminr's services, including analyzing proposal requirements, preparing appropriate responses and facilitating the proposal process

  • Monitoring and ensuring Dataminr's compliance with its contractual, statutory and regulatory obligations under company schedules and policies, other government contract vehicles and FAR 

  • Responding to complex inquiries regarding contract obligations 

  • Developing and integrating contract management tools, templates, methods and processes 

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

  • In-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS), as well as experience providing commercial services and products to government customers. 

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local government contracts; electronic proposals; government contract file systems; government contract audits and close-outs

  • Experience drafting contractual documents, including terms and conditions 

  • Experience providing commercial services to government clients

  • Proposal writing experience 

  • Experience working with sales teams (ideally in a SaaS/high-growth technology environment) 

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment, and work as a member of a global team in a scalable, autonomous, and accountable manner, demonstrating flexibility across time zones

  • 5+ years of experience as a contracts professional in the public sector or working with public sector customers

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

The annual base salary range for this position is $175,000 - $180,000. Actual salary will be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, applicant skills, and prior relevant experience.

In addition to the benefits set forth above, the compensation package for this role also includes an annual discretionary bonus.
