Are you interested in joining a team that will help shape and deliver the future of Asset Management at the FCA?
Do you want to be a part of a stimulating and collaborative team environment, working at the frontline of a world-leading financial regulator?
We're looking for someone to join the Asset Management & Funds Department within the FCA’s Buy-Side Supervision Directorate. Our focus is to develop and apply supervision strategies that have a meaningful impact in preventing harm to consumers and financial markets. In practice this means understanding how the firms that we supervise could pose a risk to consumers, leveraging subject matter expertise to build knowledge of key risks and then partnering with regulators specialists in addressing these risks. This role will put you at the forefront of supervising firms in the Alternatives sector, using data and firm engagement to determine potential risks to financial markets and consumers.
What you will be doing
You will be responsible for understanding how the strategies, business models or operations of Alternatives firms could cause harm to consumers
Drive the design and implementation of supervision strategies to create real change in firms in the best interests of consumers
You will drive senior interactions, communicating clearly and succinctly, influencing their conduct and shaping key decisions through application of sound judgement
Working on reactive work in response to firm issues and industry developments and driving thematic work and projects on key risk areas for the sector
Working collaboratively and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders such as Authorisations and Enforcement, as well as external parties such as other regulators
Contributing to the wider department, including making recommendations for continuous improvement of our processes and identification of sector-wide risks and issues
What will you get from the role?
This exciting role offers you the opportunity to engage and influence change at firms across the sector. You will be exposed to strategic issues and key players in financial services. Joining the team offers a key insight into a dynamic and critically important sector, at a time of rapid and fundamental change.
Our competitive flexible benefits scheme gives you the opportunity to create a personalised benefits package, tailored to suit your lifecycle.
