Engagement Lead / Engagement Director – Technology Due Diligence

We are expanding our Technology Due Diligence practice within the Strategy & Deals team and are seeking a senior leader to drive high-profile buy-side and sell-side engagements. This role focuses on technology, AI, data platforms, and emerging tech, providing strategic insight into risks, value creation opportunities, and operational resilience for investors and corporate clients.
Tenure guidance:
- Candidates with 7+ years of direct, relevant experience in technology consulting, transaction advisory, or technology due diligence are encouraged to apply.
- Individuals with 7–10 years of experience may self-assess as Engagement Lead based on their exposure to M&A transactions and team leadership.
- Candidates with 10+ years of experience and extensive SME, client ownership, and strategic advisory experience are likely to align with Engagement Director responsibilities.
- Responsibilities are structured to allow candidates to position themselves at the appropriate level based on experience, subject-matter depth, and deal ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technology due diligence engagements end-to-end, covering enterprise technology, infrastructure, cybersecurity, software development practices, AI, and data platforms.
- Analyze how AI and advanced technologies support the target’s commercial strategy, product roadmap, and growth ambitions, identifying technical debt, operational constraints, and emerging technology risks.
- Advise clients on technology strategy, operating models, cost structures, and AI adoption, translating technical findings into actionable commercial and investment insights.
- Manage and mentor engagement teams, ensuring delivery excellence, fostering technical expertise, and guiding junior colleagues in complex due diligence workstreams.
- Build and maintain senior client relationships, engaging with CIOs, CTOs, AI leads, and other executives to inform transaction decisions and support value creation.
- Contribute to practice growth through thought leadership, business development, and the advancement of emerging tech capabilities, particularly AI and infrastructure.
- Comment on maturity of Technology relative to market best practice and peers within the Asset and Wealth Management and Insurance sectors (including Tech stack, Infrastructure, Product Development practices, and Information Security practices)
Role Requirements
- 7+ years of direct, relevant experience in technology consulting, transaction advisory, or technology due diligence at a senior level.
- Strong experience with technology-focused due diligence within M&A or private equity transactions.
- Deep understanding of enterprise technology environments, architecture, infrastructure, and AI/data platforms.
- Demonstrable depth in emerging technology trends, including AI, cloud, and other advanced digital capabilities.
- Proven ability to translate technical and AI insights into commercial, financial, and strategic recommendations.
- Strong client leadership and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging senior executives.
- Experience managing teams and mentoring high-performing consultants.
- 2:1 or equivalent advanced degree/experience is valued but not required.
