Job Description
Must Have Skills:
3+ years of experience in vulnerability remediation in a complex IT environment preferred.
Understanding of various operating systems, applications, and network infrastructures.
1 + year hands-on experience with vulnerability scanning tools.
Strong understanding of common vulnerabilities and exposure (CVE) database and vulnerability scoring systems (CVSS).
Proactive can-do attitude
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Some experience in scripting and automation to aid in streamlining remediation processes.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the capability to work well across different teams and organizational levels.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the remediation of identified vulnerabilities across various platforms and environments under the guidance of senior team members.
Conduct triage of security vulnerabilities identified through various scanning tools and assessments.
Prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk severity, business impact, and technical considerations.
Document all triage and remediation activities, including findings, actions taken, and outcomes.
Support the development and implementation of remediation strategies and solutions.
Coordinate with the vulnerability scanning team to help prioritize and address high-risk vulnerabilities.
Work collaboratively with IT operations, development teams, and security architects to facilitate effective vulnerability mitigation.
Contribute to collaborative efforts with different business units, security leads, and Business Information Security Officers (BISOs) to ensure remediation activities align with business objectives and security policies.
Support and learn from senior team members in remediation techniques and best practices.
Assist in managing and tracking remediation efforts to comply with security policies and standards.
Provide timely updates and reports to stakeholders on vulnerability management status and progress.
Participate in incident response activities related to vulnerabilities as needed.
Keep informed on emerging threats and support the adaptation of remediation strategies accordingly
