Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help design, build, and scale high performance, AI-enabled systems in a modern cloud-native environment. In this role, you’ll handle complex initiatives from concept through production and partner closely with Product, Data Science, and Platform teams to deliver reliable, observable, and responsible AI solutions.

This is a hands-on technical engineer role for someone who enjoys solving hard systems problems, shipping production-ready AI features.

Responsibilities:

AI / ML Enablement
• Design and integrate AI- and ML-supported functionality where it meaningfully adds value (e.g., LLM-assisted workflows, model-driven decisioning).
• Develop, refine, and evaluate prompts and workflows for LLM-based APIs.
• Build and support agentic workflows, including multi-step, tool-using agents and multiagent orchestration patterns (e.g., MCP, agent-to-agent).
• Add observability and evaluation for LLM workloads, including telemetry, tracing, guardrails, safety, and cost awareness.
• Collaborate with Data Science and ML Platform teams to operationalize models and embed ML-driven features into production systems.

Software Development & Execution
• Write, review, and maintain a significant volume of high-quality, production-ready code and automated tests.
• Translate Product requirements into well-defined technical designs and executable work plans.
• Lead execution of tickets and initiatives, delegating effectively while maintaining accountability.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule and help improve system reliability and incident response.

Operational Excellence
• Define and track technical and operational metrics to measure system health and performance.
• Enhance observability through metrics, monitors, alerts, and logging.
• Identify, propose, and implement meaningful optimizations and enhancements to services.
• Ensure systems meet high standards for throughput, latency, reliability, and scalability.

Culture & Collaboration
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Foster a positive, pragmatic, and inclusive engineering culture.
• Bring your unique experience, perspective, and curiosity to the team.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency with Python, Java or .NET, including knowledge of heap behavior, multi-threading, and profiling.
• Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML capabilities in production systems, such as:
  - LLM-powered workflows or services
  - Embeddings and vector-based search or retrieval
  - Prompt design, iteration, and evaluation
• Experience integrating with external LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock) is a plus.
• Familiarity with LLM orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph).
• Understanding of responsible AI practices, including safety, guardrails, evaluation, and cost-aware usage.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building agentic workflows, including multi-step or tool-using agents.
• Previous work experience in Ad Tech applications.
• Experience working with vendor teams to deliver high quality results.
• Knowledge of performance testing and application profiling.
• Strong curiosity about how Disney delivers the Magic and a desire to be a part of it.
• Track record of driving complex features or systems from inception to production in a leadership capacity.
• Experience contributing to long-term technical roadmaps and engineering strategy.

Experience with:

• Technology stack includes Python, .NET Core, C#, ASP.NET Core, Spring Boot, Java and REST APIs.
• Data persistence utilizing a mix of relational and NoSQL databases including SQL Server, Oracle, Aurora, Redis, ElasticSearch, DynamoDB and RavenDB.
• Data streaming stack that includes Kafka.
• Azure and AWS cloud and cloud native stack such as K8s, Key Vaults, Azure Storage, S3.
