Position Description:
Performs business and system analysis for Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting applications to support new and existing operational reports. Develops and enhances BI Reports leveraging Oracle Business Intelligence Suite Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) and Tableau platform. Builds and maintains software applications leveraging Oracle, Data Lake, and Snowflake. Develops self-service reports and dashboards and delivers software in an Agile environment. Performs complex data analysis using SQL and Oracle.
Primary Responsibilities:
Reviews existing systems and recommends designs for achieving requirements for self-contained projects within a larger program.
Writes user and system stories and all the supporting documentation.
Develops business intelligence reports and drives analytics and insights to enable business partner strategic decision making.
Collaborates with technology and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions for business problems.
Develops and implements a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software.
Applies data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology and Management, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) gathering business requirements to analyze and design business intelligence capabilities or reports, using Tableau and OBIEE.
Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology and Management, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Analyst (or closely related occupation) gathering business requirements to analyze and design business intelligence capabilities or reports, using Tableau and OBIEE.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) working with business users to create technical documents, project plans, and data models using MS Office, Confluence, and SharePoint or JIRA Align tools; gathering and analyzing requirements from stakeholders and translating them into actionable project plans and technical documentation using SharePoint or JIRA tools; performing unit, functional, and system integration testing using PLSQL, Tableau, and OBIEE; and creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality of deliverables using SharePoint data mapping documents and SQL.
DE employing Tableau and OBIEE to: design and develop Business Intelligence (BI) solutions; create dashboards and reports that effectively communicate insights to clients; create interactive dashboards for business users (leveraging Oracle and SQL Server or Snowflake data sources); and create custom visualizations, calculations, and filters that allow users to easily analyze data and make informed decisions.
DE building Dynamic Row-level Security (RLS) in Tableau and implementing it on Tableau Server; actively monitoring Tableau dashboards through usage metrics applications; maintaining and creating AD groups to efficiently provide access to a large group of individuals within Tableau and OBIEE; and configuring conditional access to Tableau resources through the Admin Portal to ensure secure access to data for authorized users.
DE performing extract, transform, and load data to create clean and consistent datasets using Oracle, SQL Server, or Snowflake; analyzing complex data sets to identify patterns and trends using SQL and Tableau; and creating custom SQL queries to extract and manipulate data using Oracle or Snowflake.
