PRN Group Psychotherapist

Located close to home in Northeast Ohio, Cleveland Clinic Akron General’s Center for Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences address mental and emotional health concerns based on a philosophy that values the unique needs of the individual and encourages patient and family support and education during treatment. 
 

A caregiver in this position works as needed, primarily between the hours of 8:00AM – 3:00PM. 
 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Initiate, coordinate and provide a program of group psychotherapy to patients in an intensive outpatient program.  

  • Participate in program planning and other committees to ensure integration of the group psychotherapy program into the overall programming of the Center for Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.  

  • Monitor quality assurance outcomes of the group psychotherapy program. 

  • Be skilled in a broad variety of group modalities.  

  • Provide clear, concise and timely documentation of services rendered for all patients that addresses the several needs of delineating services provided, evaluates the patient’s treatment progress and provides an adequate basis for reimbursement of services. 

  • Contribute to, participate in and integrate multidisciplinary plans of care into services provided.  

  • Communicate appropriate clinical information and issues to other caregivers involved in patient care. 

  • Administer appropriate assessments. 

  • Develop, administer and adapt programs and treatment procedures.  

  • Document pertinent patient information and enter it into the medical record.  

  • Make referrals and coordinate treatment and discharge planning.  

  • Screen patients, complete intake evaluation and assessments, develop individualized care plans and identify problems, needs and goals.  

  • Plan and attend multidisciplinary conferences.  

  • Record the progress of patients in the intensive outpatient program.  

  • Engage in clinical supervision and continuing education as necessary to maintain current clinical skills, credentialing and reimbursability. 

  • Provide clinical education and experiential supervision within realm of expertise to psychiatric residents and other professional clinical students as directed by the Clinical Manager. 

  • Provide community education within realm of expertise to selected community groups under the direction of the Clinical Manager. 


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Master’s degree in social work or counseling.  

  • State licensure as a Licensed Processional Counselor, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Independent Social Worker.  

  • Education licensure and credentialing necessary to secure reimbursement for group therapy services.  

  • Two years of experience in mental health service delivery with one year of full-time experience leading group therapy.  


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Available two to three days a week from 8:00AM – 1:00PM for the intensive outpatient program.
