Job Summary:

As a Receiving Clerk, you will effectively and efficiently complete receiving processes, to include verification of receiving documents, proper data entry of product being received and effective document management. As a receiving clerk, you will communicate with inbound drivers to ensure

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with inbound drivers
  • Verify documentation for product received, Bills of Lading, and receiving documentation (Warehouse receiving documents, purchase orders, date codes, pallet verification report, and receiving exception report)
  • Notify Supervisor of major discrepancies, before product is received
  • Properly document inbound carriers in Receiving Log
  • Post receive purchase orders
  • Prepare the Receiving Exception Report daily
  • Coordinate with receiver and unloader on priority of Dock Door assignments and driver contact
  • Assist with collection of freight handling fees, late delivery fees, check approvals for these amounts and issue receipts
  • Compile end of shift receiving/inventory debrief
  • Check APT to ensure team members time and performance are accurate
  • Properly document outbound trailers in shipping log
  • Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies
  • Maintain all food safety, housekeeping, and other applicable standards
  • Cross-train to cover Shipping Clerk functions as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus
  • Receiving or warehouse experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
  • Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays

Environmental Job Conditions:

  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally
  • Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
  • Endurance for continuous, fast paced work
  • Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc)
  • Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
  • Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $19.00.
