The Supply Chain team is looking for motivated professionals to facilitate the distribution of our great products to customers and consumers. These personnel can analyze production metrics against market needs in Supply & Demand Planning, focus on product transportation through Logistics, or ensure the shelves of your local grocery store are stocked by Direct Store Delivery.
The Replenishment Analyst is responsible for ensuring product availability at the customer’s Distribution Centers (DCs) and Stores to maximize the Point-of-Sale (POS) opportunities for while controlling the Markup and Markdown costs. Provides Demand Planning insight relative to volume fluctuations in order to impact internal forecast for production and deployment. Ensures the accuracy of the POS forecast which drives the correct order quantities. Maintains key performance indicators at target levels and performs analyses of items’ in-stock performance to determine root cause issues and solutions to improve performance. Identifies opportunities, solutions, and corrective action necessary to drive process improvement. May manage all of the following business areas: Fresh and Packaged. Facilitates constant communication between Category Planners and the Replenishment Managers to maintain and strengthen the customer experience with Smithfield, while supporting sales growth.
Uses SAP, customer’s replenishment system and Excel to establish order forecasts to correctly generate order requirements and demand insight for Demand Planning.
Determines root cause problems on forecast accuracy issues and establishes corrective actions that are intended to elevate service levels and/or drive efficiencies in the supply chain.
Manages the customer’s In-stocks at the DC and store levels and balances inventory against established cost thresholds.
Determines root cause problems and recommends solutions to the customer’s Replenishment team to rectify issues.
Reviews orders that are generated against requirements, forecasts and demand plans; providing corrections as needed.
Assists Category Planners in disposing of long inventory positions.
Facilitates communications with the customer Replenishment team and Category Planners.
Participates and contributes in meetings with sales managers and replenishment managers.
Leads monthly and quarterly meetings with the customer’s replenishment team.
Assists with new product set up and performance tracking.
Runs stock status for each division daily and monitors inventory levels.
Works hand in hand with sales for any inventory concerns. Making them aware of any over stocks or slow pulling items that might be a concern. Advises when special promotions are needed and recommends price points to help sell at best cost efficiency.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Finance or related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Preferred experience with ordering packaged meats, fresh meats and a highly seasonal summer program or Holiday program (i.e.—Hams)
Advanced analytical skills; able to report on performance metrics, interpret data, and clearly and concisely articulate the results.
Proficient knowledge of Excel, customer replenishment system (i.e.-IBM, GRS, Retail Link) and SAP.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to work in fast paced and changing environment, while keeping a customer-focused and detail oriented approach to completing tasks.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively plan, prioritize, and set goals.
Able to execute strategies and follow up with minimal guidance.
Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Occasional travel is required – up to 10%.
