The SMT Mechatronics Technician is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of laser marking, SMT systems, and selective soldering systems. The Mechatronics Technician is responsible for programming, troubleshooting, and remedying malfunctions while overseeing the preparation of THT and SMT machines to support high-quality manufacturing processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for programming and maintaining the laser marking system and troubleshooting any malfunctions.
  • Responsible for programming and maintaining the Selective Soldering Machines and THT workstations
  • Monitor the operation of SMT Machines, ensuring proper programming and maintenance.
  • Monitor laser marking processes and the preparation of THT and SMT machines.
  • Coordinate with VEGA Germany colleagues for troubleshooting, programming, and repair.
  • Machine Operation Training for new employees as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associates degree in Mechanical, Electronic or equivalent is preferred.
  • AND 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in handling SMT components, PCBAs, and tools for repair/rework
  • Experience with various hand soldering techniques is a plus.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience with Surface Mount Technology equipment is preferred.
  • Must possess good mechanical and electrical skills.
  • Reading schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Some programming experience is preferred
  • Willing to travel to Europe for training.
