We are seeking a talented individual to join our Mercer Financial Advice team at Mercer. This role will be based in Melbourne or Sydney. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Team Leader – Intra fund Financial Advice

Mercer Financial Advice provides simple advice via phone to Super Fund Members, and Comprehensive Advice to those who have more complex and ongoing financial needs. We service traditional private clients and Mercer’s corporate, industry and public sector client base, as well as the members of Mercer Super.

Team Leaders are responsible for managing a team of financial advisers and support staff, ensuring that the team achieves its stated client and related objectives. Team Leaders play a vital role in the strategic development of the team, in growing the team through the coaching and mentoring of advisers in the servicing of key stakeholders and referral sources, promoting professionalism and the highest ethical standards in financial advice through their own actions and through the management of the team.

We will count on you to:

  • Ensuring that each team member has clear goals and KPIs in place, including call volumes, advice engagements and Scorecard
  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the team and allocating resources effectively and fairly
  • Ensuring professional development plans are in place and in particular, for high performers to facilitate career progression at Mercer
  • Ensuring General Advice Conversations are of a high standard via coaching and call listening
  • Service and Reporting standards are maintained and reviewed as required
  • Consistently achieving Statement of Advice (SOA) turnaround time service standards, whilst ensuring SOAs are of the highest quality
  • Promoting and maintaining a positive culture throughout the team by encouraging a collaborative approach and by fostering effective teamwork
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to maximise performance, leverage skills and strengths and ensure appropriate resource management.
  • Developing and overseeing new opportunities to grow the business with increased penetration of our member base, new referrals and key stakeholder engagement across helpline, workplace, member experience and strategic financial advice.
  • Achieving 100% adherence to Advice Standards and processes
  • Ensuring SLAs are achieved via the team with trustees
  • Trustee relationship management
  • Tightly managing the requirements of our authorised representatives and representatives with zero tolerance for compliance breaches
  • Minimum E&O outcomes
  • Practice management of advisers through peer review, oversight of advice and attention to the manner in which they are managing clients and client outcomes.
  • Proactively maintaining and enhancing the profile of Mercer Financial Advice internally within Mercer and externally within the industry to generate new business for the team and practice
