Role Summary:
As Cost Accounting Supervisor, you will lead a team of accountants in US GAAP accounting, including revenue accounting for both Point in Time and Percentage of Completion methods, accruals, account reconciliation, controls, journal entries, supplemental reporting, ad-hoc queries, and adjustments. You lead the team in month-end, quarter-end and year-end closings, reconciliations, controls, and audit processes.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a team of 2-3 accountants in day-to-day work.
- Supervise the day-to-day accounting, period end closing processes and account reconciliations under US-GAAP.
- Ensure accurate and controlled financial statements for your site.
- Become and stay current with all company policies, accounting and relevant corporate policies
- Support internal and external audits.
- Play an active role in the implementation of a new ERP with a go-live date of May 1st 2026. SAP is the global enterprise solution and has been successfully implemented in a number of sites in Flowserve.
- Responsible for balancing team workload and ensuring period-end deadlines and other KPI targets are met for the team which include:
- Project accounting including POC Estimate at Complete, incurred to date, liquidated damages
- Reserves including warranty, obsolete and slow-moving inventory, lower of cost or market and loss contract
- Accounts Receivable exceptions for progress billing and bad debt
- Sales and Use tax reporting from ERP to Corporate Tax
- Supplemental reporting of inventory, bookings, backlog, sales and cost of sales, sales by destination, profit in inventory, Contract Asset/Liability roll, reserves roll forward, and commercial commitments
- Perform review and posting of annual physical inventory and standard cost roll
- Ensure completion of annual fixed asset verification
- Review monthly aged WIP and quarterly WIP cycle counting.
- Help develop an environment and culture that supports the attraction and retention of quality talent.
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective internal controls.
- Build a culture of achievement, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Maintain a good relationship with site leadership to ensure a healthy service level and fluid communication of issues, concerns and victories.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience
- 2+ years of people management or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
- Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Revenue recognition experience, including Point-in-Time and Percentage of Completion (POC)
- Project accounting experience, including Estimate at Completion (EAC) and Work in Progress (WIP)
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment
- Inventory accounting experience, including standard costing and physical inventory counts
- Experience establishing and maintaining internal controls
- Experience supporting internal and external audits
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- This is a hybrid role. Onsite 4 days per week / 1 day remote
Preferred:
- CPA or CMA certification
- SAP ERP experience
- Experience with ERP implementation or system migration
- Manufacturing, industrial, or engineered-to-order environment experience

Annual Pay Range:
- 99,758.46 - 124,759.06 - 149,759.65 USD
