The Supervisor, Revenue Cycle is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our revenue cycle team. The ideal candidate will manage a group of revenue cycle specialists, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of patient accounts, coding, billing, and collections. This position plays a key role in optimizing the revenue cycle process, improving efficiency, and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Supervise and Lead Team:
Lead and manage a team of revenue cycle professionals, including billing, coding, and collections staff.
Provide guidance, training, and performance feedback to team members.
Monitor workloads and ensure timely and accurate processing of claims.
Revenue Cycle Oversight:
Oversee all aspects of the revenue cycle, from patient registration and insurance verification to coding, billing, and collections.
Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and payer requirements.
Review and resolve discrepancies in billing, coding, and payments.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline and improve revenue cycle processes for greater efficiency.
Work with the team to implement best practices and ensure high-quality work.
Develop and enforce policies and procedures for revenue cycle operations.
Reporting and Analysis:
Generate reports related to the revenue cycle, including key performance indicators (KPIs), aged accounts, denial rates, and collection performance.
Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential issues.
Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
Collaboration and Communication:
Serve as a liaison between the revenue cycle team and other departments (e.g., finance, clinical, and operations).
Work closely with insurance payers to resolve issues related to claims, denials, and underpayments.
Ensure timely follow-up with patients on outstanding balances, providing customer service and addressing concerns.
Compliance and Training:
Ensure the team is up to date on the latest coding standards, payer requirements, and compliance regulations.
Conduct regular training sessions to maintain a high level of expertise within the team.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure that all processes comply with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in revenue cycle management or healthcare billing, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role required.
Experience with billing software, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and practice management systems required.
Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, and payer policies required.
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare compliance required.
Prior experience with payer audits, denials, and appeals management required.
