What you will do

Welds metal components together with brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair products such as machine parts.  Is responsible for developing new welding processes, which will enhance the Company’s product line.  Is also responsible for developing and administering weld tests to UAW employees in order for them to obtain the necessary weld certifications.

Supports training and on-going qualifications of all Welders.  Critical for manufacturing of pressure related products, meeting of applicable codes such ASME, piping and SQLO.  These compliance’s are required in order to sell related product lines.

How you will do it

  • Welds metal parts together using both gas welding or brazing and any combination of arc welding processes.

  • Develops new and innovative weld methods to be used within the Fabrication department.

  • Administers weld certification testing for UAW employees.

  • Adheres to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.

What we look for

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of planes and solid geometry and trigonometry. 

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. 

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
