What You’ll Do

  • As a Senior DevOps engineer ensure that the solution and platform meets all Telstra’s mandatory obligations, availability and driving ongoing improvements in it’s Operations and development.

  • Assure the platform in a system admin capacity to prevent and minimise outages, resolving detected and reported faults, implement proactive system observability and reporting.

  • Proactively lifecycle the platform by applying security patches and package upgrades, identifying and remediating risks, and identifying optimisation opportunities.

  • Lead the acquisition and implementation of solutions in the collection of Cross-domain data ingestions and integration for gathering all data from network devices, applications and servers relevant to their performance, event processing and health

  • Leverage your knowledge and skills of emerging innovations in this area of artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation to drive solutions that are high quality and resilient.

  • Consider different types of data, diverse file formats and network connections as well as frequency and volume to ensure that the platform and solution is optimised to meet performance requirements of stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Telstra to build an in-depth understanding of challenges and gain buy-in to modify, design, build, and deploy operation network application technologies and platforms.

  • Synthesise domain knowledge and use judgement to select the most effective programming languages and software to develop and apply data streaming software for integration into data platforms.

  • Anticipate problems and take innovative approaches in supporting various teams with fixing complex issues and generating solutions across multiple model environments to improve Telstra’s software quality.

  • Adhere to change control and testing processes for Application software modifications to ensure the quality of solutions delivered.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Working with vendors and internal stakeholders to guide and coach others using your deep technical expertise to build capability, support delivery and improve quality assurance

About You

  • Agile DevOps and DevSecOps practices using Agile methodologies and practices.

  • Experience with ITIL practices (Incident, Problem, Change management) support.

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline (including Git etc.).

  • Experience developing and implementing automation testing (Cucumber, Cypress).

  • Programming languages and development experience (Linux Admin, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Kafka, Python, Docker)

  • Development experience with Observability tools (Graffana/Prometheus, Splunk etc.)

  • Open software platforms (e.g. Gateway, Open WRT)

  • Experience with Redhat OpenShift Container Platform desired, but not mandatory.

  • Experience in IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps desired, but not mandatory.

  • Understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning in Network environments desired, but not mandatory.
