Job Summary
This position is responsible for the oversight of compliance activities and reporting, leading key compliance processes, reviewing controls and compliance with local laws inclusive but not limited to the Value Added Tax Act.
Primary areas of responsibility
Lead the annual and ongoing self-assessment function and continuous review of internal processes to ensure compliance:
Quarterly self-assessment
Assist with Business license reviews
Key processes review to reduce risk
Internal audit
Periodic system access audit
Recommend necessary actions to remediate process control deficiencies identified
Ensure controls of day-to-day operations of the Finance/Accounting Department, Operations and Sales
Consistently provide comprehensive audits of internal company operations
Work with Internal Audit during OpCo audit
Together with the Compliance Associate maintain the fixed asset register together with supporting the annual capital investment plan.
Lead on the Legal & Mandatory Requirements checklist across the business, supporting section heads to ensure regulatory compliance is in place
Lead the contract compliance process, ensuring key deliverables by both parties are reviewed and followed up on an ongoing basis
Participate in the recruiting, training and management of the finance team
Assist the CFO with the preparation of the Annual Profit Plan (AOP) on operational expenses and initiatives.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Economics required.
MBA preferred.
Experience
At least 3 years of financial analyst and/or accounting experience required.
5 years’ experience in an accounting firm at a senior level or higher
Prior managerial experience preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
CPA, ACCA
Professional Skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Analyze data and draw logical conclusions and recommendations from the data.
Ability to lead and direct clerical positions.
Proficient computer skills with emphasis on Word and Excel.
