The Program Coordinator supports the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of institutional assessment and accreditation initiatives at Meharry Medical College. This role includes project management, stakeholder engagement, compliance tracking, and logistical coordination for internal and external program evaluations. The PC ensures timely and accurate reporting, supports strategic initiatives, and maintains relationships with institutional partners.

This role includes project management, stakeholder engagement, compliance tracking, and logistical coordination for internal and external program evaluations. The PC ensures timely and accurate reporting, supports strategic initiatives, and maintains relationships with institutional partners.

Essential Functions:

  • Assessment and Accreditation Support
  • Assist with preparing and organizing materials for program reviews, accreditation submissions, and assessment reports.
  • Maintain documentation systems for learning outcomes, rubrics, and evaluation results.
  • Support faculty and staff in completing assessment templates and compliance forms.
  • Workshop and Event Coordination
  • Schedule and manage logistics for workshops, trainings, and external review sessions.
  • Coordinate room reservations, materials preparation, and participant communications.
  • Provide on-site or virtual support during events, including setup and troubleshooting.
  • Administrative and Communication Support
  • Maintain department calendars, shared folders, and email communications.
  • Draft routine communications, reminders, and updates for stakeholders.
  • Update department web content and ensure accessibility of posted materials.
  • Technology and Systems Support
  • Use Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms to manage workflows.
  • Support the use of survey tools and data dashboards for assessment tracking.
  • Troubleshoot minor technical issues and escalate as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Coordination and Organization: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage documentation systems, track deadlines, and support multiple concurrent projects.

  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across departments and communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.

  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and cloud-based collaboration platforms; able to maintain web content and assist with survey tools.

  • Event and Logistics Support: Skilled in coordinating workshops, trainings, and meetings, including scheduling, materials preparation, and on-site/virtual support.

  • Data Handling: Ability to collect, organize, and summarize data for reporting purposes; familiarity with basic data visualization tools is a plus.

  • Adaptability and Initiative: Capable of working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities; proactive in identifying and resolving operational challenges.

 Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Preferred:

  • Experience in higher education, particularly in assessment, accreditation, or academic program support.

  • Familiarity with regional accreditation standards and institutional effectiveness practices.

  • Exposure to learning outcomes assessment or program evaluation processes.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, health sciences, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, academic support, or institutional effectiveness.
