SMX is seeking a Senior Strategic Analyst to support the U.S. Southern Command, Resources and Analysis Directorate, Counter Narcotics Division (SCJ84). In this position you will play a crucial role in driving growth and success of SOUTHCOM CN Operations.  As a Senior Strategic Analyst you will lead the strategic analysis team and collaborate with USSOUTHCOM components, and military services and Office of Secretary of Defense – Counter Narcotics and Stabilization Policy (DASD-CN/SP) to analyze performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, and contribute to strategic decision-making.

This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of our strategies and initiatives
• Develop and maintain performance dashboards and reports to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
• Collaborate with multiple teams to gather data and information required for analysis
• Identify trends and patterns in data to identify areas of improvement and make recommendations for optimization
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of strategic initiatives and provide regular updates to the SOUTHCOM CN Staff leaders
• Assist in the development and implementation of performance measurement frameworks and methodologies
• Conduct research and market analysis to identify best practices and benchmarks
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders

 Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field, or 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large volumes of data
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, such as Excel, SQL, and Tableau
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing accurate and reliable reports
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
