Our Global Family Enterprise (GFE) practice focuses on providing compliance and consulting services to wealthy families and their private business or investment entities, including personal, charitable and trust taxation and estate/gift taxation. Members of the Global Family Enterprise practice are responsible for tax engagements for a variety of clients before, during and/or exit from their integration with the U.S. income and estate tax systems.   

We provide an exceptional opportunity to develop professionally and personally through exposure to strategic international tax planning and compliance, structure consultations with respect to multinational individuals, families and family offices. 

As a tax Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following job duties, which focus on your technical expertise and ability to lead a collaborative team dedicated to excellent client service:

  • Supervise tax consulting and compliance of multiple engagements across different jurisdictions

  • Review staff work – project and people oversight

  • Employ tax service models and process tools to enhance quality and efficiency

  • Administer engagements; prepare engagement letters, invoices, etc.

  • Develop understanding of client’s business or family structure & investments, and become a ‘functional expert’

  • Interface with client on information requests, project status, develop trusted advisor relationship with management, etc.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Federal income tax consulting, compliance

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business-related field

  • CPA, EA, JD, or LLM highly preferred

  • 4-6+ years of public accounting experience or equivalent in law firms or industry with emphasis on taxation

  • Familiarity with forms 8938, 5471, 8865, 8858, 8621, 926 and other international disclosure forms

  • Strong technical knowledge of complex international tax issues(foreign trusts, foreign pensions, foreign corporations), types of visas, and exposure to related international reporting and filings, including FBAR and PFICs)

  • Proficient in domestic and cross border (Americans overseas and Nonresidents in the US) individual taxation (personal income tax, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Familiarity with international income, estate/gift tax treaties preferred

At RSM, an employee’s pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.

Compensation Range: $92,600 - $174,900

Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
