Perform disassembly, assist with failure analysis, component/part inspection, and complete assembly of heavy equipment engines
Determine the reusability of parts for all non-standard jobs
Utilize documentation such as service letters and service magazines to ensure compliance to current OEM standards; work within the repair and return setting to meet customer requirements regarding additional salvage opportunities, expanded parts re-use, and accurate parts and labour quotation
Work with the Technical Services team to help prepare parts for the purpose of diagnosing component failures
Review and process documentation per company standards and be able to understand and follow scopes of repair for each process step
Qualifications:
A minimum of 6 months working in Wage Grade 9 or higher. Relevant & applicable external experience to the position will alternatively be considered.
Preference given to those who fall within the value stream & qualify as defined in Schedule C.
Experience in the heavy equipment engine field, working on preferably Caterpillar components (disassembly, inspection, assembly, service bay, or test).
Proven ability to effectively use precision measuring tools, hand and power tools, and follow instruction using assembly manuals
Proven ability to navigate through software programs such as EBOM system, efficiently and effectively logging job progress and ownership
Strong organizational skills and safety awareness with the ability to safely adapt to a changing environment
Ability to understand and follow scope of repair process and identify scope adjustments is preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to create a safe and positive work environment
Must be able to communicate written and spoken English effectively.
Ability to regularly lift and handle material weighing up to 40 pounds
Completion of any automotive or HD technician apprenticeship training is preferred.
A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
Candidate must demonstrate the ability to work in a safe manner & comply in all aspects of the organizations policies and procedures
Note:
This posting is for a static afternoon shift; Monday – Thursday, 10 hours per shift
Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement

Hourly Rate: $44.56 - $56.23 / Hour
