About the Role
As the Sr. Director of Planning & Inventory Management, you will play a critical leadership role in connecting financial, assortment, and inventory strategies to deliver enterprise growth and guest satisfaction. You will lead a team that translates financial goals into actionable merchandising and inventory plans across multiple categories and channels.
This role is both strategic and operational — balancing financial planning, forecasting, and business analytics with inventory positioning, flow management, and cross-functional collaboration with Merchandising, Finance, and Supply Chain. You’ll champion enterprise-wide transformation initiatives to simplify forecasting, enhance system utilization, and drive data-based decision-making across the organization.

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
