The Product Creation and Merchandising team has a one-team mentality across a multitude of specialties - Trend and Concept, Footwear Design, Product and Consumer Merchandising, Product Development and Business Operations- collectively driven to deliver the Converse consumers with the best products possible and advance the independent spirit of youth.  

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Product Merchandiser to join our team. This person will work with the Product and Geo Merchandising teams to help drive the development and launch of our sneaker products on close to market timelines. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for sneakers, a keen eye for market trends, and a natural interest in fashion and consumer knowledge. This role will support the Brazil marketplace and report into the Global CTM.  Entrepreneurial spirit, effective communication and efficiency is a huge part of what will make someone successful in this role.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

This role will support the seasonal briefing by co-authoring new creation and new material/color/ graphic briefs, as well as supporting the creating of seasonal line plans.

Evaluate and review product with a clear thought process through price/value, consumer personas, and brand strategy.

Educate the team on consumer evaluation of what’s trending, illustrate consumer insights, and make recommendations to team. We want this person to be consumer obsessed and in-tune with that’s happening in the “now”.

Help manage the process and track our quarterly product Intake requests from Brazil team / Coopershoes.

Assist in managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

Create and update our visual line plans and ensure that all product information is accurate and accounted for.

Own the submission of range planning for the teams’ new product creation.

Lead our weekly product meetings with design and development to ensure we are tracking progress for all projects.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including inline product merch, design, development, geo partners, and marketing to bring new products to market.

Lead coordination with the factory / manufacturing partners alongside the development team.

Responsible for sample management. 


WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree required plus 6+ years of footwear product merchandising industry experience.

  • Passion for sneakers and a deep understanding of the sneaker market, culture, and identifying trends.

  • Industry experience with footwear design/creation, development, product life cycle management and Brazil marketplace.

  • Experience with Licensee/ factory negotiation.

  • Ability to develop business relationships cross functionally with key stakeholders.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. Must be able to communicate effectively based on audience.

  • Strong reasoning skills and the ability to interpret data and market trends.

  • Team player mentality and operational excellence to assist with the teams processes.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities while working on multiple projects.

  • Proficient understanding of the footwear product creation process and general knowledge of the components of footwear and materials.

  • Excellent organizational & follow through skills.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in English and Portuguese
