Job Description:

Role Overview:

As a Technical Architect, you will play a pivotal role in the evolution of Insurance Broking applications, focusing on new customer enhancements and bug fixing. Your responsibilities will encompass analyzing user requirements, designing software solutions, and ensuring their successful implementation through meticulous testing and documentation. A keen understanding of both technical and functional aspects of the product is essential to excel in this role.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Analysis & Impact Analysis
  • Ensuring proper documentation according to the standards.
  • Code generation as per project coding standards
  • Review the changed/new code
  • Prepare unit test Plan, Specifications & data
  • Conducting Unit and Integration testing
  • Following the defined project plan/quality processes Ensuring software items meet the requirements as defined in the functional specifications
  • Participate in defect causal analysis
  • Resolve technical issues
  • Reporting on progress against the project plan.
  • Create and maintain records as per Development and Quality plans.
  • Participate in task kick-off meetings/walkthroughs
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • In-depth experience in software engineering, with a minimum of moderate experience of the London Wholesale Subscription Insurance Market, including exposure to Broking systems.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies and best practices
  • Strong programming and debugging skills
  • Oracle 12c Web Forms / Reports.
  • Oracle SQL Developer.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience of Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Appropriate experience of working in a large software development team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, prepared to put in the extra effort when required.
  • Ability to communicate with both technical staff and business analysts.
  • Ability to write comprehensive and easily understood documentation.
  • Ability to locate and determine issues in an application.
  • Ability to understand and work with the DXC processes.
     

Other Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in a related field is a plus
  • Relevant certifications or training a plus
