The Baby Care Team is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Analyst to support both the WIC (Women, Infant, Children Government program) business and Baby Care Category Management within our Front Store Merchandising organization. This position will play a critical role in shaping the customer experience across 7,000+ stores while driving sales and profitability in the formula category through WIC-specific strategies and broader merchandising initiatives.

This role will be responsible for managing WIC state applications, pricing strategies, promotional planning, and new item setup for specialty WIC formulas, while also conducting market analysis, monitoring inventory levels, and working cross-functionally to optimize category performance. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, be highly organized, and be able to influence decisions across multiple stakeholders.

A successful Senior Analyst will have a passion for data-driven decision-making, financial analysis, and retail execution while balancing state-level regulatory requirements for WIC and overall category growth opportunities.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

15% Develops pricing strategies and promotional plans for assigned categories, including WIC products.

15% Manages WIC program applications and compliance by filing new applications, renewing existing ones, and ensuring regulatory requirements are met.

15% Monitors and optimizes performance of WIC-authorized formulas and broader Baby Care category, developing strategies to drive sales and profitability.

10% Conducts in-depth sales and market analysis to assess trends, identify risks, and drive data-backed decision-making.

10% Leads WIC training and compliance efforts, partnering with Store Operations to ensure field teams understand program guidelines.

10% Forecasts demand and inventory levels for WIC and non-WIC products, working cross-functionally to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.

5% Collaborates with suppliers and internal teams to resolve WIC-related transaction issues and optimize supply chain efficiencies.

5% Supports off-shelf promotional programs and ensures execution of category strategies across CVS stores.

5% Coordinates new item setup and maintenance, including WIC specialty formula items, ensuring compliance with state requirements.

5% Supports development of presentations and reporting for senior leadership, distilling insights into clear, actionable recommendations. 

5% Represents the WIC strategy in cross-functional meetings, state regulatory discussions, and internal planning sessions.

Education: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience required. Master's Degree preferred.

Prior Relevant Work Experience: 3 to 5 years required. 5 to 8 years preferred.

Essential Qualifications and Functions: 

  • 3+ years of full-time work experience in a retail and/or corporate environment
  • 3+ years’ experience  using design methodologies, including user research, problem definition, prototype development and iteration, etc.
  • 3+ years’ experience building and delivering leadership-facing presentations and materials
  • 3+ years experience analyzing and synthesizing data, with expertise in category management, pricing strategy, and market analytics
  • 3+ years’ experience successfully building reports and dashboards to communicate data trends and forecasts
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by successful collaboration to achieve shared goals
  • Strong time management skills, evidenced by experience being accountable to multiple deliverables on staggered deadlines
  • Strong personal integrity and judgment, evidenced by a track record of managing highly-sensitive or highly-visible business matters
  • Strong communication skills in both formal and informal writing and speech
  • Strong ability to build fast, credible relationships with leaders, peers and clients
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to process data, identify problems, and make effective decisions

  • Travel - up to 20% travel may be required, based on needs of the business

Preferred Qualifications and Functions: 

  • 3+ years experience managing state-level regulatory programs or working within government-supported food/nutrition programs
  • 5+ years’ of full-time work experience in a retail and/or corporate environment
  • 5+ years experience in category management, retail merchandising, or WIC-related programs
  • 5+ years’ experience building and delivering leadership-facing presentations and materials
  • 5+ years’ experience analyzing and synthesizing data
  • 5+ years’ experience successfully building reports and dashboards to communicate data trends and forecasts
  • 5+ years’ experience analyzing market trends
  • Experience in formula/nutrition categories and understanding of WIC state regulations
  • Ability to build relationships with state agencies and external partners
  • Ability to influence leaders to change thinking
  • Certified Professional Merchandiser (CPM) preferred.
  • Masters Degree

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
