This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As part of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of experts, you will perform hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, disassembly, testing and maintenance of cutting-edge rocket engines and various spaceflight vehicles and systems at our new, state of the art manufacturing facility and Merritt Island, FL. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of transforming the way rockets are made and operated. Qualifications:
Production experience operating Leifeld CNC metal forming and/or manual spin lathe equipment
Experience in machine set up and running production processes
Ability to trouble shoot machine set ups, material conditions, tool designs, and gaining trust while working with a small team.
Experience working with Titanium, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy and other prevalent aerospace super alloys.
High level of interest and investment to learn new machines, develop new processes, all supporting new product development of precision sheet metal components.
Comfortable dynamically changing high pace environment.
Demonstrates competence in use of manual metrology and inspection equipment with experience or desired training in state-of-the-art metrology equipment
Familiar with First Article Inspection procedures
Can do attitude, willing to complete all steps within a given defined process with varying complexity and level of skill required
Ability to use control language to set up, operate, and adjust offsets necessary as necessary.
Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
Familiar with use of personal computers
Ability to provide Design for Manufacturing feedback
Must be physically able to climb ladders, stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift and carry 25 lbs.
Minimum of a High school diploma/GED AND two (2) years’ work experience.
Proven long term success within previous employment with a work history greater than 2 years.
Ability to work with complex software interfaces to ensure the highest fidelity information for our internal and external customers.
An attitude that insists on the highest standards: quality, attention-to-detail, and dedication to the rigors necessary to pursue of human-space-flight goals.
Ability to show technical process thinking, an eye for process improvement and demonstrated ability to adhere to schedule constraints.
Basic proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired:
5+ years hands on Manual Machining / or Metal Fabrication Manufacturing production experience.
Associates degree in applicable technical discipline from an accredited school or institution: Mechanical, Manufacturing Technology, Electromechanical, Optics, Lasers, Machining, etc.
5+ years manufacturing experience in an advanced technology operations environment.
Other responsibilities include:
Hands on programming, set up and operation of a large CNC press brake.
Working with engineering to document and standardize production processes.
Partner with leadership and engineering to prioritize work based on production schedule and organizational goals. This role will impact space flight programs and objectives!
Ensure product quality and conformance to engineering specifications
