Job Description Summary

The Regional Leader of the Cost Analysts will oversee all aspects of project cost management within the region, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost reporting for multiple large-scale projects. This role is critical to supporting project delivery teams in maintaining financial integrity and achieving project objectives. The role includes a team of cost analysts managing the on-going project portfolio in the region.

Le/La Responsable régional(e) des Analystes des coûts supervise tous les aspects de la gestion des coûts des projets dans la région, en veillant à la précision des prévisions et des rapports de coûts pour plusieurs projets de grande ampleur. Il s’agit d’un poste essentiel pour aider les équipes d’exécution de projet à maintenir l'intégrité financière du projet et à atteindre les objectifs fixés. Il met en œuvre une équipe d’analystes des coûts qui gère le portefeuille de projets en cours dans la région

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

1.    Cost tracking

  • Run weekly and monthly detailed cost reports by project scope
  • Monitor budget line items on weekly basis and identify variances above a threshold
  • Maintain budget version control to ensure agreed budget changes are updated in budget forecast
  • Work with scheduler to ensure project schedule aligned with cost curves
  • Support Bill of Quantity (BOQ) quantity tracking tied to unit costs (vs budget and latest forecast)
  • Work with business to prepare for PMR reviews on quarterly/bi-annual basis
  • Monitor/track CTC spend/release - leading indicators
  • Provide feedback to Sales/ITO/IPM on lessons learned for future bids/budgets - current gap

2.      Minimize leakage

  • Run risk & opportunity analysis
  • Monitor project risk release
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses on estimating headwinds cost implications
  • Develop cross functional action plans to mitigate overruns 
  • Track execution & status of actions plans 
  • Collect and define functional targets 
  • Track action plans in regards to functional targets
  • Escalate potential concerns 

3.      Support process definition & roll out 

  • Support roadmap developments for additional processes in own area 
  • Connect with functional stakeholders to define new policies / processes 
  • In depth knowledge of best practices and work on benchmarking activities 
  • Drive team alignment on procedures and define potential improvement areas
  • Independently drive process definitions / enhancement with limited guidance
  • Lessons learned sharing between projects to drive continuous improvement

4.      Regional execution

  • Drive alignment between the different Cost Analysts working in the region
  • Ensure consistent process and best practice sharing in the region 
  • Validate accuracy of weekly / project / KPI reporting 
  • Identify further training or process needs based on execution 
  • Support cost analyst in development areas 
  • Support on action plan development / brainstorming
  • Partnership with Pole IPM & Pole Leadership on pole trends / activities 

Required Qualifications

  • This role requires significant experience in the Project Management & Operations Leadership.
  • Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, finance, or related technical major or equivalent experience
  • Proven detailed cost analytics experience
  • Several years’ work experience
  • Prior experience in people leadership
  • Prior experience in change management & process definition
