GENERAL SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the AVP, Project & Program Management, this position leads the strategic planning, development, and lifecycle management of digital products. Partners closely with engineering, user experience (UX), data, operations, and business stakeholders to ensure delivery of high-impact, customer-centric solutions. Oversees complex digital initiatives, leveraging technical acumen, agile product development methodologies, and in-depth business insights to advance the Airport’s digital capabilities and customer experience.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the primary liaison between internal teams throughout the product development lifecycle. Coordinates timelines, resources, and expectations to deliver cohesive, integrated digital solutions that meet both user and organizational needs.
  • Collaborates with business leaders and technical teams to define product vision and establish strategic direction for products.
  • Aligns product initiatives with organizational goals, market trends, and emerging technologies to drive long-term business value and competitive advantage. Develops, communicates, and maintains product roadmaps that reflect evolving priorities, user feedback, and resource constraints. Balances short-term delivery with long-term innovation, incorporating input from users, operational data, and customer research to maximize product performance, adoption, and scalability while leveraging necessary elements of technology available to balance testing new capabilities while advancing to the right solution. Manages all phases of the product lifecycle, from ideation, business case development, and design through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Serves as product owner within agile frameworks (i.e., Scrum, Kanban), leading backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Defines user stories, sets sprint priorities, and ensures cross-functional alignment to deliver high-quality products on time.
  • Partners with technical teams and subject matter experts to translate business needs into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensures documentation is accurate, accessible, and tailored to diverse audiences. Tracks and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product effectiveness, user satisfaction, and operational impact.
  • Uses insights to inform enhancements, mitigate risks, and support data-driven decision-making for product development.
  • Conducts market research, competitive analysis, and continuously monitors for emerging technologies to identify opportunities and validate product strategy, ensuring alignment with user demands and market expectations.
  • Supports budgeting, resource planning, provides input on resource allocation, capacity planning, and vendor selection for product-related initiatives.
  • Identifies project risks and dependencies early, develops mitigation strategies, and ensures adherence to governance and change-management protocols.
  • Ensures alignment with enterprise processes, compliance requirements, and data governance standards by partnering with enterprise teams.
  • Integrates digital products with operational workflows to support business continuity, adoption, and scalability.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Six (6) or more years of progressive experience in product management, product design, or technology delivery.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience working in a technical product environment with cross-functional teams.
  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Experience delivering digital products with measurable outcomes in complex environments.
  • Experience with Agile product development methodologies, backlog management, and product lifecycle management (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical execution, including strategic road mapping and technical product ownership.
  • Skill in business analysis and financial acumen to support data-driven planning and decision-making.
  • Ability to synthesize customer research, data analytics, and market insights into actionable product direction.
  • Skill with product and data tools such as Jira, Confluence, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, prioritize shifting demands, and solve complex problems.
  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle and underlying ecosystems, including marketing, technology, operations, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Experience with user research, prototype testing, pilot implementations, and vendor evaluation.
  • Ability to think strategically, collaborate across diverse stakeholders, and influence at all organizational levels.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, value proposition development, and insight generation.
  • Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams to develop new products, services, and business models.
  • Skill in relationship-building and networking, with the ability to develop and sustain internal and external partnerships that support product development objectives.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to present to senior leadership and engage diverse audiences.
  • Skill with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and mobile technology such as tablets or iPads.
  • Skill in managing large, complex projects within a corporate environment and partner effectively with procurement, legal, data, and technology functions.

DESIRABLE

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field.
  • Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner, SAFe PM/PO, PMI-ACP).
  • Experience with customer journey mapping, user acceptance testing (UAT), and design thinking methodologies.
  • Experience with diagnostic and descriptive analytics and data visualization.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional certification.
  • Certified Product Manager (CPM) or Pragmatic Institute Product Management Certification.

EFFORT

  • Works in an office-based environment, with frequent visits to operational airport facilities required.
  • Occasional travel or off-hours availability may be required based on project needs.
  • Sits for extended periods of time.
  • Uses substantial reasoning in problem solving.
  • Frequently uses computers, keyboard devices and presentation tools.
  • Exchanges information by telephone, computer, in writing, and in person.
  • Uses near-visual acuity for reading computer monitors, written materials, and reviewing electronic data.
  • Drives to locations on and off Airport property.
