POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is part of the Atlantic Coast Region located in Raleigh, NC and reports to the Atlantic Coast Commercial Market Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates effective leadership by setting clear expectations in supervising the analyst and administrative assistant for efficient region operations and support. 
  • Maintains online sales forecast system; monitors actual sales by terminal and commodity in comparison to forecast, competitive dynamics, and market dynamics and makes updates as necessary.
  • Conducts monthly analyses by comparing expenses of current month to historical and to the budget; informs accounting department of any necessary adjustments; studies various reports to detect and explain irregularities, unusual costs and similar matters to the region manager, and suggests corrective measures when required.
  • Compiles and prepares information required for reporting of the Business Plan, Tactical Plans, Budgets, Sales Forecasts and other financial forecasts.
  • Works with the region to create and manage a feasible, goal-oriented business plan that pursues growth within in the region, while also maintaining existing volume.
  • Represents the region’s best interests on cross-regional/organizational initiatives pertaining to evolving technology, process improvements, contract management, and supply dynamics.
  • Creates and maintains tools utilized by the Territory Managers, Commercial Market Managers, and Commercial Market Director that track items such as: goal-based performance throughout the year, competitive bids, Brand portfolio turnover, and value/volume gains and losses. Generates many one-off tools and analysis to aid in the day-to-day functions of the region.
  • Assists management in the ongoing development and analysis of data necessary to measure profitability of various market and business opportunities; gathers and analyzes data, develops reports, and formulates recommendations.
  • Provides advice and information to marketing personnel regarding policies, programs, price studies, and business proposal development; assists in determining product availability at terminals and investigates reasons for product outages.
  • Compiles data, statements and reports; performs various administrative activities to assist management in planning, directing, coordinating and reporting the sales and operations; maintains region records in compliance with corporate records management guidelines.
  • Plays an active role in key initiatives impacting the Region; collaborates with business partners, provides analytical support, and helps implement and execute market specific strategies.
  • Develops and plans all arrangements for region meetings and participates in such meetings to provide support and to present on various topics.
  • Provides support to Region Territory Managers and Commercial Market Managers in preparing and reviewing bids and proposals.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline required.
  • Six (6) years of Marketing, Accounting, IT, Commercial or Engineering background required. Marketing, Pricing, Analytical, and/or Supply & Logistics experience is preferred
  • Business travel up to 10%
