Ecommerce Assistant Merchandiser

Department: Outdoors Multichannel Merchandising Team

Location: Bury

Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Objective:       

The purpose of this role is to ensure product gets online in an accurate and timely fashion, whilst maintaining the look and feel of the websites to maximise conversion & ultimately drive sales while supporting the Junior Merchandisers on a day-to-day basis.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that new product is online as quickly and efficiently as possible. Working directly with the B&M team, using intake calendars to build out and manage the New in Trackers.
  • Providing the content team with priority products to ensure the most relevant and revenue driving parts of the range are set live across the various outdoor sites.
  • Working with B&M to send over & record new season samples to the Photo Studio to ensure assets are created ahead of stock landing in order to reduce time to site.
  • Merchandising the sites using Aurora Commerce ranking blends and manual modification for key product categories & brands to ensure the most relevant seasonal product is being showcased.
  • Site walks throughout the week to raise any potential issues – broken links, incorrect product descriptions, product placement, imagery and general housekeeping including Left Hand Navigation.
  • Assist their relevant category Junior Merchandiser in day-to-day tasks as required.
  • Setting up current on-site promotions in the Aurora platform and using Monetate software to apply relevant overlays / badging for them.
  • Reviewing & maintaining product attribution to include multi-buys, colors, new season & out of stock rules.
  • Ensuring product reviews are regularly checked and set live to sites
  • Dealing with daily product queries from the customer experience team, escalating and managing any issues that can’t be resolved there and then.
  • Supporting line managers with basic system / task training for new Assistant Merchandisers.
  • Review top on site searches and action merchandising rules to improve results and conversion.
  • Review and update size guides regularly.

Teamwork: 

  • Comfortable working within an online merchandising team whilst also working directly with the wider Buying & Merchandising teams.
  • Reporting directly into an online Merchandiser.
  • Regular communication with online marketing in terms of product selections and promotional information.

Skills/Experience/Knowledge required:

  • Ecommerce, merchandising and excel experience.
  • Good analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication and work well in a team.
