Our Global Client Solutions team (GCS) leads banking relationship management and the provision of transaction banking, risk management and capital solutions to our clients. The team’s purpose is to provide Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) clients with solutions across the financing spectrum to support their strategic objectives.

 

This role will be part of the Australian Energy team within the broader Energy, Commodities and Sustainability business of IB&M . The Energy team provides relationship management services to clients in the Energy sector including ASX listed corporates, institutional investors, and renewable energy developers. A key focus on the Energy team includes the project financing of renewable energy projects and the asset management of these projects.

 

Do work that matters:

 

You will play a key role in providing client, transaction and operational support to Bankers across the customer lifecycle, with responsibilities including:  

 

  • Provide support to Bankers in covering and servicing the needs of our clients including for complex transactions, operational requirements and day-to-day enquiries across the client lifecycle
  • Work as part of a Deal Team over the lifecycle of a deal to support and drive documentation, execution, establishment, settlement and in-life maintenance processes
  • Prepare annual credit reviews and provide analytical and credit related support in preparation of credit applications for new transactions. Liaise with product partners, credit risk and other stakeholders as required
  • Collect client information to facilitate and support the Know Your Customer ‘KYC’ onboarding process for new clients and the KYC refresh process for existing clients, including liaising with customers and the relevant middle office teams
  • Perform portfolio monitoring activates such as breach management and other reporting and liaise with credit risk where required
  • Input and maintain client, credit and transaction data and ensure data accuracy and quality across systems
  • Identify and take accountability for delivering continuous improvement opportunities across the team and stakeholders
  • Actively contribute to projects and initiatives across the Coverage business working with Transaction Banking Solutions, Chief Operating Office, Risk and Control Advisory and Delivery and other key stakeholders 
  • Contribute to internal and external reporting requirements
  • Actively contribute to the team to ensure a positive team culture and support a safe and diverse workplace for all team members, customers and visitors

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and negotiation skills and ability to build a strong rapport with clients and work colleagues
  • Understanding of risk management and credit risk issues
  • Highly developed research and analytical skills
  • Proactive in driving change, influencing and reporting to management
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience in understanding the operational drivers of a business and how they relate to the financial drivers of that business 
  • The ability to grasp complex structured transactions and analyse the benefits of the idea for specific client circumstances 
  • An understanding of the systems used across IB&M and our product offering
  • Strong oral and written communication skills combined with professional presentation
  • Knowledge of KYC requirements
  • Capacity to work in what could at times be a high pressure environment requiring tight timeframes
