POSITION SUMMARY: The Algorithm Delivery Engineer is a critical member of the Algorithm Design Team who oversees delivery of complex algorithms developed by the team into FORTNA’s Warehouse Execution System and then oversees successful deployment of those algorithms into the operations of our customers.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Deliver algorithms developed by the Algorithm Design team to FORTNA’s Product R&D and Software Engineering teams, making sure the design intent of the algorithm is met in the implementation. Includes delivering algorithm to Software, developing testing scripts, and working with the software team to resolve discrepancies. This function requires a deep understanding of the algorithms and their scientific bases, as well as an understanding of software development.

  • Work with the Software Engineering team to deploy algorithms into the operations of FORTNA’s customers. This function requires travel to customer sites, working with Systems Integration to develop on-site functional tests, and working with project management teams to solve problems on site.

  • Post go-live, work with the Algorithm Design Team to monitor performance of algorithms by collecting and analyzing operational data.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for support of algorithms deployed at customer sites. This function does not require 24/7 on-call response, but rather serving as the liaison between the Algorithm Design Team and FORTNA’s Lifecycle Performance Services team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Industrial & Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • 2-5 years’ industry experience in warehouse operations, gained either through consulting or direct operational experience.

  • Basic knowledge of software development and deployment. Must be able to interface between research scientists in Algorithm Design and programmers in Software.

  • Excellent skills in written and oral communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Must possess the natural curiosity required to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve messy problems in chaotic environments. Overcomes obstacles, leaps tall buildings, and doesn’t take No for an answer.

  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30 percent, domestically and internationally.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Knowledge of PC or PLC-based controls.

The base salary range for this role is $73,900 to $110,800.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
