Job Description Summary:

PayPal is seeking a Finance Product Integration Manager to join its Project Execution Office team within the Finance organization. The Finance Operating Model (FOM) Project Manager will work closely with Finance, Product, Technology, Risk, and Compliance functions. This will include partnering with upstream and downstream teams to manage cross functional risks, issues, support deployment of processes and technologies to comply with company policy, and support First Line of Defense (FLOD) on-going monitoring and reporting to Leadership.

Job Description:

The Finance Operating Model (FOM) Project Manager will provide project leadership, professional oversight and support of key Finance initiatives, derived from the FOM strategic plan and approved by the FOM steering committee to deliver outcomes that promote efficiency, return on project investments and expense savings that are in compliance with PayPal’s global statutory and regulatory obligations.

The Project Manager will apply best practice in project management, finance process improvement, organizational change, technology implementations, service excellence and design across all core finance areas.

The Project Manager will be highly analytical, technically proficient, possess the necessary drive, business and operational acumen, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be a confident and collaborative Finance Leader.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and support in the on-going development and implementation of Finance Operating Model strategies.
  • Support strategic goals to improve and drive finance efficiency and effectiveness to deliver global consistency, scalability, and accountability in PayPal Finance.
  • Lead company-wide transformation projects and finance performance improvements, including:
    • Work with executive sponsors and business leads to ensure each initiative is properly scoped and chartered so that success can be measured,
    • Include benefit realization strategy and results tracking plan,
    • Coordinate development of initiatives project plan & budget
    • Initiate cross-functional involvement and set meeting cadence for project management,
    • Meet with business leads to review/discuss key issues, risks, and dependencies for assigned initiatives,
    • Represent and consolidate initiatives’ status reports in the governance process, including scorecard development,
    •  Proactively manage key stakeholders to escalate potential risks/issues of cross-functional relevance; assist in developing mitigation strategies and support their implementation,
    • Lead conversations around additional business transformation opportunities and provide guidance regarding appropriate project management support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Accounting, Finance, or Business degree, or related curriculum. Certified in Project Management.
  • Minimum of 8-10+ years of experience leading large business transformation initiatives and system implementations.
  • Strong project management full life cycle experience in large scale projects leveraging different methodologies, working with large and diverse teams in multiple locations,
  • Ability to facilitate dialogue with the various stakeholders to understand their needs and drive teams to develop solutions to meet and/or exceed our customer needs.
  • Manage projects to successful On Time/On Budget/On Quality delivery
  • Proactively identify and report on risks, issues and dependencies for the project or program

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing clearly and succinctly, complex design and technical issues, as well as business and product requirements,
  • Manage efforts that involve 3rd party consulting and/or vendor product companies,
  • Strong presentation and documentation skills, proficient in PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
  • Able to manage financial and procurement duties as part of program/project management.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with matrix reporting structure.
  • Extensive experience leading global, multi-disciplinary teams in fast-paced, change intensive environments,
  • Extensive knowledge of project and program management tools, templates and management techniques including (CA PPM or equivalent), MS Office Professional, MS Project, MS Visio, Sharepoint and advanced levels in Excel.  
  • Exceptional problem solving and negotiation skills, with the ability to work across organizational boundaries to drive closure of complex delivery challenges,
  • Strong business and technical acumen, with the ability to quickly understand and communicate technical concepts and challenges across a wide-ranging audience,
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the professional confidence and credibility to effectively engage and interact with senior and executive management.
