This role is focused on the technical execution of platform upgrades, working closely with the Technical Team Lead, Professional Services teams, and client representatives throughout the upgrade process. The engineer will be responsible for migrating client configurations and supporting testing cycles to ensure system functionality and stability. The successful candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills and experience working with highly customized enterprise applications, particularly at the database layer within SQL Server environments.

Responsibilities

  • Build and configure new environments by replicating client configurations from existing production environments.
  • Perform validation activities following upgrades to ensure application services and system functionality are operating correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across application services, configurations, and SQL Server databases.
  • Work closely with Professional Services teams and client representatives during upgrade cycles to support testing and issue resolution.
  • Support end to end testing of client workflows, ensuring front, middle, and back office investment processes operate correctly following upgrade.
  • Investigate and diagnose issues identified during testing cycles, performing root cause analysis and implementing appropriate fixes.
  • Capture and maintain testing evidence and upgrade documentation in line with governance and operational requirements.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering or platform teams where deeper investigation is required.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of upgrade procedures, troubleshooting practices, and technical documentation.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of experience in IT, supporting enterprise applications or platform environments.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL scripting and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex database issues.
  • Proven experience working with highly customized enterprise applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across application, database, and configuration layers.
  • Experience supporting system upgrades, migrations, or platform deployments in complex environments.
  • Experience working within SaaS or cloud-based application delivery models.
  • Ability to work effectively with client-facing teams, internal delivery teams, and external stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

High Desirables

  • Experience within financial services or with investment management platforms is desirable.
  • Familiarity with front, middle, and back-office investment lifecycle processes is advantageous.
  • Experience with tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, Dynatrace, or similar enterprise platforms is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies such as agentic AI and an interest in exploring opportunities to leverage AI driven tools to improve operational efficiency, troubleshooting, and automation.
