Commercial Real Estate (CRE) provides a fully integrated platform of banking, financing, and capital markets solutions to commercial real estate clients including financial sponsors, institutional investors and asset managers, regional developers, and public and private corporations.

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Program Associate to assist in the structuring of CMBS, Agency CMBS, single borrower and CRE CLO transactions.  The candidate will work with deal teams responsible for all facets of the securitization process, creating pitch books, models, due diligence reports, credit memos and negotiating legal documentation as well as assisting in the sale/distribution of CMBS bonds.  The position will initially support senior CMBS structurers on transactions and eventually run transactions alone. 
 

In this role, you will:

  • Create CMBS cashflow models by combining collateral characteristics, bond characteristics, and payment priorities

  • Use those cashflow models to price CMBS bonds and evaluate deal proceeds for live deals as well as client presentations

  • Collaborate with deal teams, syndicate desk and clients to optimize deal structures

  • Produce bond information for inclusion in offering documents; work with accountants to tie out that information

  • Work with outside legal teams to review offering documents for accuracy

  • Assist third-party analytics providers set up and tie out their cashflow models for investor use

  • Answer investor questions related to CMBS structures

  • Assist loan pricing group with pricing of large CRE loans

  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to support product or coverage area, sales, or trading within the Securities and Investment Banking and Capital Markets Divisions

  • Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise within Investment Banking functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements

  • Collaborate and consult with Investment Banking colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders, including internal as well as external customers

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of Investment Banking Program experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience with a focus on commercial real estate, finance, or capital markets

  • Familiarity with CMBS and/or ABS securitization structures

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to think through problems clearly and logically

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complicated concepts in clear, simple language

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Advanced Excel knowledge including finance and accounting functions and formulas

  • Familiarity with Intex DealMaker


Job Expectations:

  • Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

  • Registration for FINRA Series 63 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.

  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.  In addition, state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards.  Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Willingness to work on-site in accordance with current office requirements

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed

  • This position is subject to FINRA background screening requirements. Candidates must successfully complete and pass a background check prior to hire. Successful candidates must also meet and comply with ongoing regulatory obligations, which include periodic screening and mandatory reporting of certain incidents.

Pay Range
 

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.

$150,000.00 - $250,000.00
