Job Description: The Manager, Project/Program Management will be responsible for successfully leading project and program teams through various stages of product development, clinical evaluations, operational readiness, and commercialization for new and improved products and related accessories and disposables. The role involves initiating, planning, budgeting, executing, documenting, controlling, and managing all aspects of projects and programs to ensure on-time commercialization of new products and technologies that uphold BD's best-in-class quality standards and business objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage large-scale projects/programs with strict adherence to BD's Quality Systems and Change Control Process, while developing detailed program plans, facilitating business case approvals, and coordinating resource prioritization across multiple projects.

  •  Implement comprehensive program strategies for quality assurance, risk management, communications, and staffing, while maintaining accurate program information and effectively communicating status updates to all stakeholders.

  • Lead core team meetings and other program-related gatherings, continuously assess and enhance meeting processes, decision-making frameworks, and workflows to optimize program execution and team effectiveness.

  • Serve as a project and program management authority by guiding peers, demonstrating high emotional intelligence, building trust with team members, and creating a culture of urgency and accountability to exceed project goals.

  • Understand and resolve complex problems while maintaining forward momentum during crises, demonstrating strong ability to influence at all organizational levels (downward, horizontally, and upward) to ensure project success.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in (Mechanical, Biomedical, Systems, Electrical) Engineering or related field.

  • Minimum of 6 years direct experience managing increasingly complex projects and/or programs, with a demonstrated record of successfully leading projects in the medical device industry that incorporate Software, Firmware, Thermoplastic Hardware, and Disposable components.

  • Proficient understanding of Medical Device Regulations and Product Development Process, with the ability to see the "big picture" and determine the best course of action from an overall business perspective.

  • Demonstrated record of leading within complex organizations, with strong management skills and the ability to work collaboratively at all levels in a matrix environment to build and maintain positive relationships required to accomplish organizational goals.

  • Proven expertise in using MS Office Suite and related project management systems, complemented by strong analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in decision-making with the capability to negotiate and balance priorities across multiple functional departments, making timely decisions even when facing risk and uncertainty.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Highly preferred experience in the medical device industry, with consideration for candidates from pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare sectors as an alternative.

  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies, plus proficiency in project management software including Jira and Microsoft DevOps.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and demonstrated ability to lead meetings with external representatives.

  • Commitment to adhering to all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and requirements, with ability to implement control measures that prevent injuries and protect the environment within area of responsibility.

  • Master's Degree preferred, with PMP/Agile/Scrum certification considered a plus.
