What You Will Do:

  • Review and process purchase requisitions for goods/services and ensures compliance with purchasing procedures and requisition requirements.

  • Interact with Suppliers, Contractors, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Consultants and other department personnel regarding requisition requirements, procurement procedures, approvals, order status and follow-up.

  • Maintain records in accordance with established policies and procedures and audit guidelines /SOX requirements.

  • Validate and execute change orders related to material or services issued as per the requirements and requisition of the stakeholder.

  • Validate and reconcile supplier invoices, handles invoice resolution and corresponds with supplier/contractor, Accounts Payable or stakeholder regarding invoicing discrepancies.

Who You Are:

You have the following education & experience:

  • University degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Economics or related field.

  • For candidates who do not possess University degree, an additional 3 years of experience is required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Previous related experience within Supply Chain as a materials/services buyer.

  • Basic understanding of supply chain concepts including and understanding of the current market conditions, key suppliers, industry knowledge and materials or service being procured (basic materials to complex services).

  • Knowledge of Procurement processes/policies such as SOX policies.

  • Enrollment in a professional designation program in a related field e.g. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or equivalent is considered an asset.

  • Experience with Oracle or SAP.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, prioritize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
