Work hours: 

  • (Semester) Between 15 and 40 hours per week, between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • (Summer) Up to 40 hours per week, between 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

Job Description:

We have an immediate opportunity for a programming intern within our Software Development Department.  The Software Development Department provides various insurance and business software solutions for agents, insureds, and internal users.

During this internship, the student will gain experience in the following:

  • Programming languages including .NET (C#), JavaScript, SQL
  • Development Tools including Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Launch Darkly
  • Azure and cloud technology
  • Application architecture and modern software development practices

Duties may include:

  • Developing new software applications
  • Updating existing software and databases
  • Testing existing software for errors and confirming fixes
  • Communicating with co-workers in order to understand software requirements
  • Troubleshooting reported errors in existing programs and modifying software to optimize overall product quality

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a four year degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Assurance, MIS, or equivalent
  • Understanding and ability to configure personal computer hardware and related software
  • Knowledge of Windows 10 and Office 365
  • Familiarity with networking and client/server applications
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Work with detail with accuracy
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
