Position Summary:

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a member of a field-based team of advanced degree specialists who function as an extension of the Global Medical Affairs organization. MSLs are responsible for developing and enhancing professional relationships with medical thought leaders in various phases of product development. MSLs provide medical information through scientific exchange in a fair and balanced manner and provide clinical/scientific support for Genmab and the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) department at the direction of GMA management.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a passionate, high profile, high-impact Global Medical Affairs team, and work in a highly dynamic and collaborative setting.

Domestic travel of more than 50% will be required.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Identify Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and establish, foster, cultivate, and maintain relationships with KOLs in academic and community centers

  • Develop and execute territory plans in alignment with regional, national, and global Medical Affairs strategies

  • Act as the primary point of contact and facilitator for investigators interested in developing and performing investigator sponsored research, from submission, review and approval, through study activation/completion and publication.

  • Provide insights/feedback on emerging scientific/clinical data that enhance the value and appropriate use of Genmab products to internal stakeholders

  • Present appropriate clinical and scientific information to healthcare providers in response to unsolicited requests (as appropriate) in a fair and balanced manner, in both group and one-on-one situations

  • Collaborate with other internal departments to support Genmab-sponsored trials through enrollment support, trial site recommendations, and maintaining contact with investigators who are participating in ongoing Genmab studies

  • Present scientific/clinical information on Genmab products to formulary committees and/or payers, in collaboration with Market Access

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, clinical treatment trends, clinical trials, and scientific activities within areas of interest to Genmab ie: oncology and hematology

  • Provide relevant medical and scientific information and literature, within corporate guidelines, for healthcare provider education.

  • Professionally represent Genmab at select medical and scientific conferences and meetings

Experience & Skills:

  • BS in scientific and/or medical discipline required; Advanced scientific/medical Degree (Pharm D, PhD, MD) preferred

  • 2-5 years Field Medical or Oncology/Hematology experience preferred

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred

  • Proven ability to work independently, as well as in cross-functional networks

  • Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills, strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities, and a customer focus are necessary.

  • Strong compliance knowledge and adherence to corporate compliance

  • Current working knowledge of country-specific legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with healthcare professionals

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with numerous internal stakeholders in a high-matrixed environment

  • Must be able to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment

  • Valid permanent residency in Japan

  • Native level Japanese in verbal, reading, & writing
