The Hospital Coordinator will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of administrative and logistical processes within a hospital setting, supporting McKesson's commitment to healthcare excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, procedures, and admissions, ensuring accurate record-keeping and communication with relevant departments.
Manage and maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Facilitate communication between patients, families, medical staff, and other hospital departments to ensure seamless patient care and experience.
Assist with inventory management of medical supplies and equipment, processing orders, receiving deliveries, and ensuring proper storage.
Prepare and process various administrative documents, including billing statements, insurance claims, and discharge paperwork.
Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, managing correspondence, and organizing meetings.
Resolve patient inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner, escalating issues as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all hospital policies and procedures.
Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to improve workflow efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Minimum Requirement
Typically requires 5+ years of related experience.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field preferred.
Critical Skills
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in an administrative or coordination role within a healthcare setting, preferably a hospital.
Proficiency in medical terminology and hospital information systems (e.g., EMR/EHR).
Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals.
Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance standards is a plus.
