Role purpose

The Cafe & Catering Attendant will support the daily operations of the café and catering services, ensuring high-quality food and beverage service to all customers. This role involves assisting with making hot beverage, food preparation, taking orders, operating POS system, maintaining cleanliness, and providing excellent customer service, and supporting the Chef if and when required.

Key Accountabilities


Customer Service

  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints efficiently.
  • Maintain a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the café and during catering events.
  • Serve customers promptly and courteously, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.


Food & Beverage Preparation and Service

  • Preparing and heating up café food and make hot beverages for café.
  • Assisting in food preparation and hot beverage for catering services.
  • Ensure all food/beverage making process are applying food hygiene all the time.
  • Operate efficiently and clean properly all equipment like, coffee machine, Juggler, toaster griller.


Operations Support

  • Assist in delivering catering to meeting rooms, washing dishes, preparing food, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly cleaned and handled.
  • Support the café team during peak hours by taking orders, handling EFTPOS transactions, and restocking supplies with FIFO rule.
  • Support Concierge and Oracle when needed by assisting guest inquiries, supporting key meetings and providing general customer service to enhance the overall visitor experience.


Cleanliness and Safety

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café and catering areas, including dining areas, kitchen, and storage spaces.
  • Always adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe environment for both staffs and customers.


Team Collaboration    

  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support Concierge and Oracle when needed.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience & Capabilities


ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE (what you have done)    

  • Previous experience in a café, restaurant, corporate boardroom, or catering environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with operating point-of-sale (POS) systems.


CRITICAL KNOWLEDGE (what you need to know)    

  • Good coffee techniques and basic skill of café food preparation.
  • Good knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Well understanding of various food and beverage items, including dietary restrictions and allergens.


CAPABILITIES (what you can do)

  • Strong customer service skills with a positive and approachable demeanour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to details.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team.
