Position Summary:

The associate is responsible for managing the procurement and supply chain activities, the primary objective is to ensure that the organization has the right quantity of goods and materials at the right time and at the right cost to meet its production or operational needs. This role involves strategic planning, purchasing, inventory management, and supplier relationship management to ensure the uninterrupted flow of materials and goods required for production and operations.

Evaluates and analyze monthly demand and forecast. Evaluate and establish Safety Stock at Raw Material as applicable. Analyzes Material Requirements Planning (MRP)/Advanced Planning Scheduling (APS) of direct material for current and new products. Analyzes MRP system and determines orders to be placed according to schedule. Ensures material availability to meet production schedules. This includes new product introductions by securing material for pilot runs and incorporation of new product to the establish planning process.

Maintains communication with suppliers, monitor the delivery of materials. Identify potential supply chain disruptions and develop mitigation strategies to minimize the impact on operation. Manages inventory levels to ensure inventory goals are met, develop strategies to increase inventory turns and align according to production rate. Identifies and engages internal functions as needed to meet customer/supplier expectations.

Prepare and present regular reports on procurement and supply chain performance to management.

Major Responsibilities and Authorities

  • Demand planning through Oracle IVCP/Establish Planning process
  • Elaborates purchasing orders and follow up according to production requirements
  • Keeps purchase orders date updated in the system accordingly
  • Identifies, evaluate and implement Pull System Strategies
  • Verifies on a weekly basis the production plan in order to ensure material availability
  • Expedites and adjust supply according to customer requirements
  • Provides delivery feedback to Internal Planning & Operations team
  • Monitor, identify and resolve past due backlog issues
  • Follow up development of new products
  • Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality and Trade Compliance procedures
  • Participates in Kaizen events and Continuous improvement initiatives

 Required Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain related field
  • 3+ year proven experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Experience with long lead time & overseas suppliers
  • Import/Export & Logistics basic knowledge
  • External supplier audit background
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Microsoft Office
  • Inventory control
  • ERP (Transactional and Planning Module), preferably Oracle
  • Pull Systems (VMI, Kanban, Min-Max) experience
