Do work that matters

As a Senior Data Scientist within the AI Acceleration Squad, you will assist in the development, monitoring, implementation and management of models supporting our journey of transforming the outcomes for the bank in Chief Data and Analytics Office. 

From applying Generative AI to better support knowledge and decision management functions, to activating agent-oriented AI design patterns to better automate and drive results, you will be familiar with the latest and most exciting patterns in AI and Data Science development that may support this mission objective.

You will work closely with key business stakeholders in the CDAO and across BUs, from AI engineers through to our top of house risk and controls functions, while navigating the full breadth of CDAO and financial services design and delivery functions. Your AI and Data Science perspective will be informed by your experience in the financial services or financial technology domains.

We are also interested in hearing from people who:

  • Are experienced in applying high complexity data science techniques to large and unstructured data within a corporate environment

  • Have a natural talent to educate, communicate and positively influence a diverse and large group of stakeholders and cross-functional teams

  • We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with financial and statistical modelling (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this role!

  • Demonstrated experience in Pricing, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science or Financial Modelling, Computer Science or software engineering

  • Proficient in building and implementing traditional statistical models and ML models, using Python and/or R or an equivalent rapid prototyping language

  • Proficient in SQL, e.g. Teradata SQL, including big data analysis and query techniques.

  • Experience in working with Big Data Platforms, e.g. Hadoop/HDFS, using Hive and/or Spark

  • Experience across Cloud, elastic compute platforms and GPU or AI Accelerated computing.

  • Ability to leverage Generative AI solutions, for software development to document or language analysis, including image generation skills.

  • Experience across Multi-Modal Foundational and API served Large Models.

  • Ability to operate and deploy within an open-source environment, leveraging PyPI, CRAN or Hugging Face Transformers libraries to jump start a development pathway
