About the Role

The SAP Support Specialist/Helpdesk Analyst provides technical assistance and support for SAP users. This role involves troubleshooting, problem-solving, and guiding users through SAP applications to ensure smooth operations and optimal utilization of SAP functionalities.

What to Expect?

Day to Day Duties

  • Perform and control day-to-day systems administration/management activities, from initial set-up and configuration to maintenance and upgrade projects.

  • Resolve moderately complex problem management issues, investigating and devising solutions for systems/operations.

  • Interact with network services, software systems engineering, and applications development to restore availability of services and identify root causes of complex problems.

  • Enhance user satisfaction through proactive maintenance, effectively resolving intricate issues in a timely manner.

  • Participate in system/network projects/enhancements, representing the department and providing technical advice and solutions.

  • Define and implement recommendations for complex issues in systems, databases, or applications.

  • Review complex problem situations and identify preventive measures/improvements to processes, procedures, or tools.

Technical Duties

  • User Support: Provide timely assistance to SAP users experiencing technical issues or seeking guidance on SAP functionalities.

  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to SAP applications, including but not limited to SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BW/BI, SAP CRM, SAP SCM, etc.

  • Ticket Management: Manage tickets/incidents through designated ticketing systems, ensuring proper documentation, resolution, and escalation of issues as needed.

  • Configuration and Customization: Assist in configuring SAP modules according to business requirements and participate in customization efforts as necessary.

  • Training and Documentation: Develop user guides, FAQs, and training materials to facilitate user understanding and adoption of SAP systems.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including SAP developers, business analysts, and IT support staff, to address complex issues and implement system enhancements.

  • System Monitoring: Monitor SAP systems for performance, security, and integrity, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues.

  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements and system optimizations to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of SAP applications.

  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with SAP best practices, security standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on SAP technologies, trends, and best practices, and share knowledge with team members to foster continuous learning and improvement.

What will make you successful?

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

  • Proven experience in SAP support or SAP helpdesk roles, with expertise in one or more SAP modules.

  • Proficiency in SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, or other relevant SAP applications.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and provide effective solutions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with users at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • SAP certification(s) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and IT service management concepts is desirable.
