What you’ll do in this role:

The primary purpose of this position is to lead senior level Life Science Specialists in the following areas: sterilization, environmental monitoring, product cleanliness, and biocompatibility.  You will lead these associates to develop and implement innovative solutions to resolve complex technical problems, drive efficiencies, and compliance.  Under your leadership, your team will be accountable for providing the technical support and leadership required to sustain and optimize ongoing production, ensure site quality, drive continuous improvement projects to completion, and/or support the transfers of new products and new technologies into sites.

Be a Strategic Leader

  • Assume responsibility for Life Science support activities on multi-site projects and accept accountability for delivering the Key Performance Goals/Targets established.
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining and ensuring compliance of Life Science policies and procedures.
  • Serve as an integral member of the Product Category’s Leadership Team and contribute to the development of the team’s strategies and annual goals and objectives from which your Key Performance Goals/Targets are derived.
  • Lead your direct reports which include may include any level of Life Science Specialists.
  • Understand and adhere to Integer’s Values and all company policies, procedures, and work instructions defined in your training plan.
  • Ensure compliance to the established Quality Management System.
  • Ensure compliance to all Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security protocols. 
  • Define the goals and objectives for your direct reports with supporting Key Performance Indicators (metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity).
  • Promote talent by developing individual growth and development plans and organizational succession plans.
  • Model an open and inclusive communication style in team meetings.
  • Engage with Life Science Associates at all levels inviting them to your team meetings.
  • Ensure one/one time with your direct reports, regularly, to monitor performance and check in on progress to Individual Development Plans
  • Interact directly with your customers, internal and external; participate actively in team meetings and during site visits and audits.
  • Partner with your peers on the Site Leadership Team, aligning on strategies, tactics, and actions needed to achieve each Site’s objectives.
  • Collaborate with the R&D and Product Development teams to appropriately support the Product Development Processes and Technology Development Processes with resources in support of new product and/or new technology launches.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on contract sterilizer and laboratory agreements and in identifying and executing on cost savings opportunities related to sterilization and laboratory testing.
  • Perform other duties, as needed and as directed.

Support Quality and Manufacturing Excellence Imperatives

  • You embed Quality within all that you do – “I own Quality.”  You are a standard bearer for Quality in everything we do at Integer, by assuring adherence to our Quality Management System (QMS), facilitating and/or contributing to corrective and preventive actions, and contributing to the successful attainment of our quality KPI’s and journey differentiated quality.
  • Provide support of Integer’s Manufacturing Excellence and Market Focused Innovation Strategies
  • Participation or leadership through Site Hoshin Plans, Quality Plans, Validation master plans, associated quality improvement imperatives.
  • Provide leadership as required for QA RA weekly and monthly metrics, supporting the walk to 5 sigma.  
  • Leadership of Sustained Change ensuring customer change notifications are initiated and completed, as necessary, and supporting continuous improvement activities as required.
  • Support the standardization of workplace organization & visual controls (5S), Manufacturing Standard Work, and robust training & certification programs where applicable.
  • Associate Engagement promoted through the adoption of standardized problem solving. methodologies, behavior-based safety programs, and improvement idea and suggestion systems.

      Systems & Process Optimization through adoption of principles of built in quality.

What sets you apart:

  • Minimum education You have earned, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Biology or related technical field. A master’s degree is preferred.
     
  • Minimum experience: You have accumulated a history of at least 10 years of Life Science related experience including at least 2 years in technical management positions.
     
  • Specialized knowledge:
  • First-hand experience with addressing medical device sterilization: Ethylene Oxide (EtO/EO) ISO 11135:2014 preferred, environmental monitoring, product cleanliness, and biocompatibility requirements.
  • While not required for this position, your willingness to consider relocation opportunities and rotational assignments will provide additional opportunities for future career growth and progression within Integer.
  • A mastery of problem-solving skills and evidence that you are a critical thinker and thoughtful decision maker is needed.  We expect that you will have completed formal training in problem solving analysis and project management.
  • You remain actively engaged in your chosen or related discipline by staying up to date on new technologies, recent developments, and evolving learnings as they relate to your technical field.
